The Kensington Ballet School

ballet school for children aged from 15 months through graded RAD syllabus classes

who
We Are

The Kensington Ballet School was founded by Karen Lowe in 2002 and offers a fun but structured introduction to the world of ballet for children aged 15 months through to more formal RAD syllabus classes.

There is a strong emphasis on theatrical performance from Karen’s team of classically trained ballerinas, many of whom have performed in the West End, and who actively dance and demonstrate with the children ensuring that each class is taught in a stimulating but instructive manor.

our
Classes

The benefits of ballet to the child are numerous. Enhanced agility, co-ordination and concentration, whilst developing an understanding of music and rhythm are the keys to a graceful and elegant dancer.

Your child’s ballet journey commences with our fun-filled “mum’s and babies” classes where the toddlers learn to interact with other children in a structured environment with our gentle and encouraging teachers.

From the age of 5 years your young ballerina has the option of taking a more formal path and enrol in the internationally recognised Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) syllabus ballet classes.

These exam-based qualifications encourage the children of all ages and abilities to constantly improve their ballet technique through regular oversight and assessment.

As with all our classes the emphasis is on inspiring the young dancer to fulfil his or her potential.

our
Teachers

Our lovely ballerina teachers have all been chosen for their gentle and encouraging manner with the children.

All our ballerinas have worked professionally with highly regarded companies such as English National Ballet. Many have performed in the West end on prestigious shows such as “Phantom of the Opera”, “Mary Poppins” and “An American in Paris”. As such they bring a theatrical element to their teaching which helps capture the imagination of the children.
